Dr Sally Gates
Dr Sally Gates MBBS, DCH, FRACP
Sally completed her medical training at the University of Adelaide in 2007, before commencing specialist paediatric training. Predominately training at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, she gained broad experience across a vast range of paediatric disciplines including neonatology, cardiology, adolescent medicine, oncology, gastroenterology and mental health. Sally has worked in many different health settings including inpatient, emergency, community and rural practices ensuring vast experience in complex medical care.
Sally’s final years of general paediatric specialist training were undertaken as a Community Child Health Fellow and Forensic Medicine Fellow. She has a particular interest in early infancy and post-natal medicine, as well as developmental medicine including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Sally is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-orientated care that focuses upon the needs of the child and their family.
Sally is currently working with neonatal patients and their families at Frances Perry House and is employed as a General Paediatrician at Djerriwarrh Health Services providing care for patients with behavioural, developmental and general paediatric illnesses in a multi-disciplinary setting. Sally is involved in teaching trainee-doctors and medical students through her work at Djerriwarrh Health. Outside of medicine, Sally loves cooking and entertaining with her husband, travel and yoga.
