Clinical Interests:

Candie is a general paediatrician who cares for patients from birth through to 18 years old with a broad range of health concerns. She thrives on providing holistic care to children and young people, working with them and their families. She believes in working collaboratively with the child, family and allied health professionals to maximise the developmental potential and emotional well-being of the child.

In addition to general paediatrics (feeding, growth, settling, sleep, toileting concerns, respiratory problems, abdominal pain, constipation, skin concerns and allergies); Candie is particularly interested in breastfeeding and is experienced in supporting mothers through the complexity of newborn feeding.

She is also interested in paediatric rheumatological conditions (such as joint pain and inflammatory concerns) and paediatric oncology. She is also experienced in the care of ex-premature infants, neuro developmental and behavioural problems, ADHD, Autism, learning difficulties and eating disorders.

Background and Experience:

Candie graduated from Medicine from Monash University in 2007 and completed her Paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital and Austin Hospital. She has obtained additional experience within neonatology and community child health. She also has partially completed Fellowship training in Paediatric Oncology.

In addition to her private practice, Candie also works at the Austin Hospital Paediatric VicSIS immunisation clinic. She is also interested in teaching and works as a Teaching Fellow for The University of Melbourne, teaching Paediatrics to medical students.

As a mother of two children, Candie understands how every child is unique and how a family-centred approach can improve their health and wellbeing. Candie works collaboratively with GPs, allied health professionals, paediatric subspecialists and community services to ensure holistic care and optimal outcomes are achieved for the child and their family.
