Dr Kim Chin

Paediatric Endocrinologist

 

Clinical interest

Kim is a Paediatric Endocrinologist who specialises in the care of children and young people with hormone related disorders, with particular interest in bone health, thyroid dysfunction, obesity, growth and adrenal issues.

 

Background & Experience

Kim trained in Paediatric Endocrinology at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s. She has dual specialty fellowships in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Endocrinology. She has vast experience working with multidisciplinary teams providing both inpatient and community based health care. Her training experience also includes work in Adolescent Medicine and Community Child Health. Kim has an active interest in research with a focus on bone health. 

 

She currently works as a consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital (Western Health) providing care for patients with endocrine disorders and diabetes.

 

Kim is a mother of two young, busy daughters. She enjoys running, yoga, a good book and spending time with her family. 

 

Practice Philosophies 

Kim thrives on providing holistic care to her patients, working with them and their families/carers to achieve optimal outcomes. She enjoys guiding them from diagnosis through to management, taking into account the dynamic developmental stages unique to paediatric patients.
