Melissa Marinelli

Speech Pathologist

 

Melissa (Mel) Marinelli is a Paediatric Speech Pathologist with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents and their families. She provides comprehensive assessment and intervention for a wide range of communication and learning needs, with particular interests in language development, speech sound development, social communication, literacy and learning. Mel is passionate about working alongside families to understand each child's unique strengths and support needs.

Mel has worked across home, clinic, school and early intervention settings with children and young people aged approximately 2 to 19 years. While she enjoys working across all stages of childhood, she has developed a particular interest in supporting school-aged children and adolescents with language, literacy, social communication and learning differences. She enjoys helping children and young people develop the communication skills, confidence and strategies they need to participate successfully in learning, relationships and everyday life.

Mel values recognising and building on each child's individual strengths, interests and ways of communicating. She believes that collaborative, family-centred practice is fundamental to achieving meaningful outcomes and enjoys working closely with families, educators and other professionals to develop practical, individualised supports that reflect each child's goals and everyday environments.

Mel regularly collaborates with Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Paediatricians and educators to provide holistic care. She has experience contributing to multidisciplinary assessments, including autism assessments, and values bringing together the perspectives of families and professionals to support each child's communication, learning and wellbeing.

Mel enjoys helping families, educators and young people better understand communication and learning profiles, translating assessment findings into practical, meaningful strategies that support participation across home, school and community settings. She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-informed and collaborative care that empowers children, young people and their families.
